Developed by senior-weavers, our Online Advanced Tapestry Weaving is a remote learning workshop in which participants will learn a variety of advanced weaving techniques on a small scale using the weft faced French Gobelin technique. Through instructional videos and downloadable course handbook you will learn advanced techniques using high-quality ATW dyed yarn from the comfort of your own home.
Advanced modules include: weaving a circle and curved shapes, hatching and half passing, colour mixing, texture with Soumak knot and translating designs into tapestry.

If you already have yarn and warp that are very similar to those supplied by the ATW, you can select a ‘CLASS ONLY’ ticket. This ticket includes handouts, video access and online tutoring sessions but NO materials. You can buy other materials separately from our online shop.
TECHNOLOGY & ACCESS REQUIREMENTS: Videos will be subtitled and presented in English only. SKILL LEVEL:To participate this class it is recommended that you have completed the online or onsite ATW Introduction to Tapestry Weaving class or similar. You should be able to warp up a loom and complete a simple tapestry sample without assistance. Minimum age is 16 years.
