VISIT US

The ATW is open to the public Tuesday to Friday and offers 2 viewing sessions each day, with a limit of 10 visitors at anytime:
Session 1: 10 am – 12.30 pm
Session 2: 2 pm – 5 pm

To ensure your visit is safe and stress-free we have implemented a range of hygiene and physical-distancing measures. Bookings are not required, but you must register your details upon entry for the purpose of contact tracing. Please note that the wearing of a facial mask that covers both the mouth and nose is a condition of entry to the ATW. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask please let ATW staff know.

The ATW is closed on all Victorian public holidays.
The ATW administration office (for enquiries and deliveries) is open Mondays – Fridays, 9 am – 5 pm.
Due to COVID-19 our guided tours are currently suspended.
During your visit you will have an opportunity to observe our weavers at work on tapestries from our mezzanine, and to look down into the colour laboratory where the yarns are dyed for production. The ATW has two galleries which feature curated exhibitions of tapestries, textiles and contemporary art on a rotating basis. We have also have a shop on site where we sell our exclusive yarns, with a colour range of 368 colours, as well as ATW cards, puzzles and books.

Public Transport: Take the No 1 tram (South Melbourne Beach) in Swanston Street and alight at stop 24 or take the No 12 tram (St Kilda Beach) in Collins Street and alight at stop 129.

Parking: Most of the parking around the ATW is one or two hour metered parking. Parking at the nearby South Melbourne Market is free on market days.
