Held every two years, artists from around the world are invited to submit small scale hand woven tapestries that reflect an expressive use of tapestry through material, concept, colour and design.
Generously supported by Susan Morgan, the Kate Derum Award honours Kate Derum and her significant contribution as an artist, weaver, teacher, mentor and former Studio Manager of the ATW.
The Irene Davies Award was established to support early career weavers and is generously supported by Alayne Davies in memory of her mother Irene Davies, a tapestry enthusiast and avid support of the ATW.
This year the Kate Derum Award attracted 123 entries with 87 finalists from 17 countries. 83 entries were received for the Irene Davies Awards with 51 finalists representing 17 countries.
The winners were be selected by a panel including Artist Tai Snaith, Artist Jenna Lee (Gulumerridjin (Larrakia), Wardaman & KarraJarri) and ATW Studio Manager Rebecca Jobson.
