Claire McArdle is a Melbourne based artist whose practice explores jewellery and objects and the experiences imbued by them.
Her works create contexts for conceptual works to influence their perception, and is realised through a broad range of materials including metal, textiles, stone and wood.
As an artist in residence at the ATW, Claire continued to expand upon the theme of her work from Identity Fair, which sought to raise questions about the Australian identity by encouraging a personal exploration of the self, how we define our identities and how it extends to a national identity. She created new works using naturally dyed Icelandic wool which was later part of a solo exhibition in 2016.
