The Australian Tapestry Workshop is showcasing a suite of new and significant tapestries at Melbourne Design Fair 18 – 21 May 2023.
Presented in collaboration with the Australian Design Centre, the ATW x ADC booth has been co-curated with Sydney based Designer Rina Bernabei and Lisa Cahill. The booth features 15 ATW tapestries and a diverse collection of hand-crafted objects including jewellery, ceramics, glass, furniture, textiles and lighting created by some of Australia’s best talent and most sought-after artists and artisans:

ATW x ADC brings together two Australian creative industry leaders committed to producing and showcasing internationally significant works of contemporary art and design.
This is the first presentation of ATW tapestries at Melbourne Design Fair - an annual platform curated by the National Gallery of Victoria and delivered in collaboration with the Melbourne Art Foundation, for designers, commercial galleries, design agencies and organisations to come-together under one roof to promote and sell the best collectible design from Australia and the world. Taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 18 – 21 May, the Fair will feature work for sale from more than 150 designers across 60+ presentations.

The Work: ATW Weavers Chris Cochius and Pamela Joyce are presented in conversation with Dr. Suzie Attiwill, professor of Interior Design, School of Architecture and Urban Design RMIT University and independent curator and writer. FREE entry with ticket.
This event is part of The Melbourne Design Fair TALKS program presented by MDF Major Partner Mercedes-Benz. The TALKS brings together designer, makers, gallerists, collectors, and interior designers in conversation with prominent design journalists, educators and curators with the aims of broadening awareness of the contemporary collectible design scene in Australia and internationally.
