
General Manager and Head of Studio
Beck has worked at the ATW since 2017 and is currently the General Manager and Head of Studio.
She has Bachelor of Arts in Textiles from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and has worked across craft/design industries for over 25 years - specialising in curatorial projects and artist development, strategy and business management, sector advocacy and education. Previous roles include Creative Development Manager and Acting CEO at Craft Victoria.
Becks works as a creative producer spans exhibitions, public programs, residencies and collaborative projects both in Australia and internationally that explore her interest in textiles, slow craft, and sustainable design. Her writing on contemporary craft includes periodicals, design magazines and co-authorship of international publications including 'The Craft Companion' and most recently 'Textiles x Art’.
As GM + Head of Studio Beck manages tapestry production, creatively engages with incoming artists in residence, and oversees the day-to-day business of the Australian Tapestry Workshop, with key areas of responsibility in finance and administration.
Two of Beck's favourite ATW tapestries are 'The Royal Harvest’ designed by Naomi Hobson and the experimental 'Theremin Tapestry' designed by Chicks on Speed.
