ATW was delighted to exhibit the Tapestry Design Prize for Architects 2018 finalists and the tapestry 22 Temenggong Road, Twilight in Brisbane as part of the 2019 Asia Pacific Architecture Forum.
The Tapestry Design Prize for Architects 2018 finalists exhibition surveyed the international response to David Walsh AO's challenging brief – to design a tapestry, which considers both geometry and chaos for the hypothetical site of Étienne-Louis Boullée's Cenotaph for Newton. This mooted building was the inspiration for the Fender Katsalidis Architects' Pharos Wing, Museum of Old and New Art.
This exhibition also featured the recently completed 22 Temenggong Road, Twilight tapestry, designed by Singaporean based architect Justin Hill and first-prize winner of the Tapestry Design Prize for Architects 2016.
The Tapestry Design Prize for Architects 2018 is a partnership between the Australian Tapestry Workshop, MONA and Architecture Media.
