Join artist Louise Meuwissen in exploring how we house our emotions. Create your own soft sculpture, in the form of a small, lidded vessel for emotional holding, embellished with beads and sequins from Louise’s own collection.
In a relaxed environment, you’ll be introduced to Louise’s art practice while learning hand-sewing construction techniques and the fundamentals of bead embroidery. Participants will take home a precious object of beauty and sentiment.
This workshop celebrates the power of adornment, symbology, and personal expression. It invites participants to explore how craft-based artmaking can become a powerful, generative, and restorative practice for emotional wellbeing.
Participants with all levels of experience are encouraged. No prior sewing experience necessary; whatever your perceived sewing skill or creative ability, you will leave with a treasure. Everything you need to create your piece will be provided, including all materials. Additionally, your very welcome to bring your personal sewing kit, or any materials of sentiment or significance that you would like to include in your own work.
Please note, this is an emotionally gentle workshop, for personal reflection, with no expectation of group sharing.
