In 2021, architects from 23 countries embraced the possibilities of contemporary tapestry through 141 designs responding to the multi-award-winning Phoenix Central Park designed by John Wardle Architects and Durbach Block Jaggers. Our judging panel, Cameron Bruhn (Chair), Brook Andrew, Diane Jones, Valerie Kirk, Dimmity Walker and John Wardle, selected a shortlist of fifteen finalists and the winner.

People's Choice Award

Voting is now open for the $1000 People's Choice Award.

Voting closes: Friday 12 November 2021, 5 PM AEST.

The TDPA encourages innovation and visionary thinking by challenging architects to design contemporary tapestries. Since 2015 the prize has fostered exciting new creative dialogues between architects and tapestry weavers and received over 500 tapestry design submissions.

The Tapestry Design Prize for Architects 2021 is generously supported by Metal Manufactures Limited, Architecture Media, Creative Victoria and the City of Port Phillip.
