In 2021, architects from 23 countries embraced the possibilities of contemporary tapestry through 141 designs responding to the multi-award-winning Phoenix Central Park designed by John Wardle Architects and Durbach Block Jaggers. Our judging panel, Cameron Bruhn (Chair), Brook Andrew, Diane Jones, Valerie Kirk, Dimmity Walker and John Wardle, selected a shortlist of fifteen finalists and the winner.

The TDPA encourages innovation and visionary thinking by challenging architects to design contemporary tapestries. Since 2015 the prize has fostered exciting new creative dialogues between architects and tapestry weavers and received over 500 tapestry design submissions.
