Senior Weaver
Dr. Caroline Tully first worked at the Australian Tapestry Workshop for 14 years from 1996 to 2010.
During this time Caroline worked on large projects including 'Open World' by John Young which hangs in the Nanjing Library in China, and 'Ngayuku Ngura (This is my country)', a painting designed by senior Pitjantatjara artist and elder Nyankulya Watson. She also worked on small tapestries designed by artists including Belinda Fox, Bob Jenyns and Irene Barberis.
Caroline has returned to the ATW to reconnect with her textile roots and to inform her studies on ancient Minoan textiles. She has enjoyed rekindling her perception of colour and form and working collaboratively with other weavers. Caroline's favourite tapestry project is the Reg Mombassa design 'Alone in the Bush', 2001, which is part of the Federation Tapestry series at the Melbourne Museum.
