'Robyn Daw: Curious Nature' celebrates the life and work of the late Robyn Daw, who was a weaver at the ATW from 1986 to 1989, as well as an artist, curator, educator and writer.

This exhibition shows a selection of tapestries drawn from a retrospective of her work shown at Logan Art Gallery, QLD, in 2023. Robyn Daw’s tapestry works evoke her love of process, of repetition, of quietness, of reduction, of elegant understatement.

A life-long interest in the art and culture of textiles led Robyn to work as a weaver at ATW, followed by a French government scholarship to research textiles in France. In 2001 she curated the much respected ‘Material Witness: 15th Tamworth Fibre Textile Biennial’ for the Tamworth City Gallery. A large tapestry by her, Speed 2001, is held in the collection of Ararat Gallery/Textile Art Museum Australia.
