Michelle Hamer uses hand-stitched pixilation to map the small in-between moments of apparent ‘nothingness’ that characterise everyday life.

Her work focuses on text and signage within urban landscapes. It highlights contemporary social beliefs, ideals and ironies as witnessed in both impermanent and interstitial spaces.

Hamer’s work is based on both ‘found’ text and her own photographs -translated predominantly by eye into her stitched works.
