On 2 July 2019 the ATW welcomed students from grades one to six from Albert Park Primary for a Sound and Colour Workshop with artist in residence percussionist Zela Papageorgiou.
Papageorgiou’s practice focuses on contemporary, classical and experimental music. She is drawn to performing compositions that include elements of improvisation and open instrumentation with traditional and non-traditional percussion instruments.
For the workshop, Albert Park Primary students worked with Papageorgiou to create instruments from tapestry warps, colourful bobbin ends and the clatter of bobbins as well as developed their own musical scores.
Albert Park Primary Sound and Colour Workshop with Zela Papageorgiou was proudly supported by the City of Port Phillip.
