Gareth Sansom's tapestry Family Trust is on display at the National Gallery of Victoria as part of the artist's major retrospective exhibition Transformer from 15 September - 28 January 2018

In Sansom's signature style, Family Trust is a vivid tapestry brimming with contorted, spewing faces with disembodied eyes, all writhing in a patchworked pattern. The image is claustrophobic, packed with energy and agitated movement, and layered motifs jostling for attention.

Family Trust was woven by ATW weavers Andrea May, Peter Churcher, Hannah Rother, Jennifer Sharpe and completed in 1990.
