Immerse yourself in a two-day weekend workshop at the ATW, designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of tapestry weaving. Working with the weft-faced French Gobelin technique, you’ll learn how to warp your own loom and weave simple shapes and lines, while exploring colour and pattern. A light afternoon tea will be provided.

This workshop is led by Senior ATW weaver Tim Gresham. Tim's tapestry practice spans more than 30 years and combines his deep interest in photography with a fascination for rhythmical pattern and colour. His work has been widely exhibited across Australia, including solo shows at Ararat TAMA (Textile Art Museum Australia), Craft Victoria and Craft ACT, and major exhibitions such as the Wangaratta Contemporary Textile Award and the Cicely and Colin Rigg Contemporary Design Award.

The ticket price does not include take-home equipment or materials; however, if you'd like to continue your weaving practice at home, looms, tools, and materials will be available to purchase during the workshop. Participants will receive a 10% discount on these purchases on the day.
