Jennifer Goodman is a Melbourne-based artist with a degree in painting from RMIT University. She has exhibited extensively across Australia.
Jennifer's approach to art is that art is a sensory experience. Her work is an exploration of the senses. Her paintings seek to elicit a response from the viewer on many levels – to engage with both their emotional and visual intelligence; to be immersed in the beauty of the color, form and surface of the painting.
During her artist in residency program at the ATW, she furthered this line of investigation through the medium of tapestry. She was intrigued by possible outcomes of interpreting the subtlety of color and illusions of transparency, found in her own oil paintings, into the much more textured medium on tapestry.
