Senior Weaver
Born in Brisbane in 1965, Tim Gresham received a Diploma of Creative Arts at the Darling Downs Institute of Advanced Education, 1984-1986. Tim then moved to Melbourne and worked on large scale projects for the Australian Tapestry Workshop.
For almost 30 years Tim has exhibited extensively, working in both tapestry and photography. These include solo exhibitions at Craft Victoria in 2004 and Craft ACT in 2011. He was included in Group Exchange the 2nd Tamworth Textile Triennial, 2014, and the Cicely and Colin Rigg Contemporary Design Award, National Gallery Victoria, 2003.
Tim’s tapestry designs have a close connection with photography, which has developed into a fascination with rhythmical pattern and colour. Inspired by the urban environment and landscape.
In recent years Tim has been one of the tutors teaching Learn to Weave and Advanced classes at the Australian Tapestry Workshop.
He has work in the collections of City of Darebin, LA Trobe University Art Museum, Methodist Ladies College, Ararat Regional Gallery and Wangaratta Exhibitions Gallery.
