In 2019 Antonia Syme, who is Director of the Australian Tapestry Workshop, undertook the Royal Collection Studies tour, where scholars learn about the patronage of the Kings and Queens of the United Kingdom from the 15th century onwards and the magnificent collection that resulted from this.
The Royal Collection is the oldest and largest private collection in existence and holds over one million items.
Antonia will share stories from her privileged access to the collection and the palaces where it is displayed and will explore the changing function and character of the British Royal Collection through a study of the monarchs responsible for its creation and the objects collected.
Nina Stanton was the first Chairman of The Copland Foundation and an ardent supporter of The Attingham Trust. Her generous legacy provides scholarships, which can apply to any of the courses offered by The Attingham Trust.
