Join 2022 Artist in Residence Victoria Manganiello for an electronic textiles sewing with circuits workshop.
Electronic textiles or e-textiles are fabrics that enable electronic components such as batteries, lights, sensors, and microcontrollers to be embedded in them. Participants will learn the basics of circuitry, working with soft conductive material and sewable lights and batteries. This is a great introductory workshop for people wanting to incorporate e-textiles into their work.
Victoria Manganiello is a textile artist, educator, producer and collaborator based in Brooklyn, NY. Victoria uses e-textiles in her own artistic practice and is also a professor of Textiles at NYU and Parson’s School of Design. Students will have the opportunity to contribute what they make to be included in Victoria’s upcoming exhibitions in the USA.
