We are delighted to announce the 16 artists and designers who will join the ATW as Artists in Residence in 2019!
The Artist in Residence program invites artists to immerse themselves in the unique studio environment of the ATW for between 2 - 8 weeks.
Congratulations to Adrian Lazzaro, Amanda Ho, Ana Teresa Barboza, Daniela Contreras, Deborah Prior, Gosia Wlodarczak, Kate James, Lee Darroch, Megan Williams, Roseanne Bartley, Rosie Westbrook, Sharon Peoples, Zela Papageorgiou and collaborative trio Nina Ross, Gabrielle de Vietri and Stephen Palmer.
This year we received a record number 133 applications from artists in Australia and around the world, making the selection process highly competitive.
The 2019 applications were assessed by Emeritus Professor Kay Lawrence AM, former Head of School, School of Art, Architecture and Design at the University of South and ATW Board Member; Charlotte Day, Director of Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA); Beck Jobson and Antonia Syme of the Australian Tapestry Workshop.
