Cultural Partnerships

We are committed to collaborating with, supporting and providing opportunities to a diverse range of independent living artists, architects and designers. We share these cultural partnerships with communities local, national and international.

Weaving Futures

In 2020, the ‘Weaving Futures’ project provided these artists with an opportunity to expand their practices through the lens of tapestry design. Nurturing creativity during a challenging time – the project disseminated skills and knowledge through different mediums and across generations.

Weaving into Wellbeing

We are proud to collaborate will hospitals and care providers to develop and deliver this art as therapy program. Weaving into Wellbeing repurposes the ATW's colourful waste yarn to create therapeutic hands on activities resulting in a number colourful outcomes.

Woven Song

Inspired by the Embassy Tapestry Collection, which places tapestries designed by Indigenous artists in Australian embassies around the world – Short Black Opera’s soprano Deborah Cheetham AO, is developing a series of musical works that respond to each embassy tapestry.
