Join us on Saturday 1 August for the 2026 Hancock Fellowship In-Conversation with International Artist in Residence Desire Moheb-Zandi and ACCA Curator Sophie Prince.

Born in Berlin and now based in Paris, Desire Moheb-Zandi’s practice is informed by her Iranian and Uzbek-Turkish heritage and her experience of growing up between cultures. Central to her work is weaving as both a physical process and conceptual framework, bringing together traditional techniques with a contemporary sculptural approach. This talk will explore the conceptual foundations of Desire's practice, her material research and international career, alongside the ideas shaping her residency at ATW.

Sophie Prince is a curator, arts manager, editor and writer based in Naarm (Melbourne). Sophie is currently Curator at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA). Her role focuses on continuing ACCA's innovative exhibition program of leading contemporary art & ideas, alongside editorial work, and contributing to ACCA's rich program of events. Prior to her role at ACCA, she was Assistant Curator of Australian and First Nations Art at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), where she worked on several major exhibitions including REKOSPECTIVE: The Art of Reko Rennie (2024) and The Stars We Do Not See: Australian Indigenous Art (2025–currently touring internationally).
