Emerald Threads was a collaborative project in 2018 between the Australian Tapestry Workshop, Multicultural Arts Victoria, Arts Access and Slow Art Collective.
The international exchange between Dovecot Studios, Edinburgh and the Australian Tapestry Workshop was designed the raise the profile of contemporary tapestry weaving by fostering talent, building relationships and sharing knowledge.
As part of the Emerald Hill Cultural Precinct, the Sound and Colour series brought together musicians from Multicultural Arts Victoria and Australian National Academy of Music to perform amongst the colourful ATW tapestries
Weaving Worlds was a free day of weaving workshops, demonstrations and talks by Master Tapestry Weavers and Pacific Women Weavers at the Australian Tapestry Workshop.
This collaboration between Multicultural Arts Victoria and the ATW brought together two groups of women artists from refugee communities for a 6-week tapestry weaving program.
In celebration of International Woman's Day 2013, the ATW and Multicultural Arts Victoria collaborated for a special cultural event as part of Conversations at Emerald Hill.
The Australian Tapestry Workshop was delighted to work with Multicultural Arts Victoria on Weaving Stories for Kids held in 2013 as part of MAV’s So Mo … so MAV! Festival.
PRINT WEAVE MAKE were a series of open days held over three consecutive Saturdays in November 2012 at the Australian Tapestry Workshop, Australian Print Workshop and Craft Victoria
Between 2012 to 2015, the ATW was delighted to join its Emerald Hill Cultural Precinct arts neighbours for an annual celebratory open day of activities and events.
The ATW was honoured to be one of the few venues in Victoria included in the itinerary of HRH The Prince of Wales in 2012.
In 2011 ATW collaborated with the Australian National Academy of Music and other neighbouring cultural associations to present an afternoon of music amongst the looms.
